Epi 101 - 101 Pounds of Fun

I had a bit of fun this week which was a good thing because I was in a time crunch to make sure I had this episode recorded, editing and published on time.  One thing you may notice right away is that I used my travel mic and recorder to capture the content for this week so I will be the first to admit that this particular episode has a sound quality that is not my usual standard. It didn’t distract me too much and I hope it doesn’t take away from your listening enjoyment ... not too much anyway.
So this week I speak about body imagery and how it’s changed over the last 50 years, plus how it can affect young boys and men who are struggling with their gender identity and/or gender expression. From that I move on and cover number fifteen of the 20 Jokes So Terrible They’re Actually Funny (we’re getting down to the end and I’m looking for a new countdown to cover, send it my way to the email address listed below) Then over on the “B-Side” I share a bit about how California is suffering a serious water shortage and how my neighbors appear to have to care or clue about the severity of this situation. Later I share the song of the namesake of this episode ... “101 Pounds of Fun” from Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “South Pacific” from the 1949 Broadway soundtrack, plus a listener submitted song by Ice Cube, “Do Ya Thang.” After which I close out the program with a quick listener feedback moment.

Epi 100 - Holy Crap I Made It!

This week I celebrate reaching 100 episodes! (YaaaaaaY!) Sincerely, I really can’t believe I’ve been chugging along for 100 episodes.  It’s a milestone that I’m proud of, but it still doesn’t feel like I’ve been doing this for 100 weeks!  Anywho ... in this episode I talk about the up’s and down’s, trials and tribulations, and the in’s and out’s of doing a weekly podcast and trying to come up with content every week, and I threw in a couple outtakes just to keep things a tad bit random. Then I cover a great post from our sponsor, Tom Slatin at https://www.tomslatin.com/essential-questions-to-ask-before-making-a-website-redesign/
Next we dive right into number fourteen of the 20 Jokes So Terrible They’re Actually Funny. Then “Over on the B-Side” I talk about which video games have caught my fancy over the years, even when the number is small because I’m not by any standards a “gamer” and I share about how video games have changed since my youth until now, then I play some of my favorite “summertime” songs! During listener feedback I read and respond to an email from someone who has just recently come out to themselves and close family members.  It’s truly a heartwarming letter and a wonderful share from a listener that many will connect with

Epi 099 - 99 Bottles of Beer

This week you’re in for a entertaining time because I take a little break from specific trans topics and just have some fun with the fact I’m on episode 99. Plus number thirteen of the 20 Jokes So Terrible They’re Actually Funny, then over on the B-side I share one of those “I was so drunk when...” stories and then we round everything out with some listener feedback.  And as a bonus I play the songs “Somewhere In The Night” from the TV series Quantum Leap and “The Ultimate Beer Song (99 Beers)” by Zane Williams then as a surprise we have a visit from Groucho Marx!

Epi 098 - Why So Sensitive?

This week I share my view about why certain people (or types of people) seem to be a bit “overly sensitive” about situations and things that they probably don’t have to be. Followed by number twelve of the 20 Jokes So Terrible They’re Actually Funny then Over on the B-side I share a bit about what keeps me busy outside of trans related things, and of course some listener feedback to round out the show!
